Los Angeles, CA./Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Big Machine Records) - Taylor Swift was named Choice Breakout Artist at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, adding a coveted Teen Choice surfboard award to her growing collection of honors.

"It really means a lot to win an award voted on by people my age!" says Taylor . "Fan voted awards mean more to me than anything else, so THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone who voted!"

Held earlier this week in Los Angeles, the awards honor the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion. Taylor was nominated for Choice Breakout Artist along with Colbie Callait, Flo Rida, Jordin Sparks and Leona Lewis.

This marks Taylor's 7th major award win in less than a year. Earlier this summer, Taylor was named Top New Female Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music and Superstar of Tomorrow at the 10th Annual Young Hollywood Awards. She also won CMT Music Awards for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year, and is the reigning CMA Horizon Award winner, as well as the Nashville Songwriters International Songwriter/Artist of the Year.

Also this week, a brand new song from Taylor will premiere as part of NBC's broadcast of the 2008 Olympic Games. "Change," which will appear on Taylor's sophomore CD (scheduled for release this fall on Big Machine Records), will be one of a few songs used as the soundtrack for daily video highlights shown during the Olympic broadcast. The song was selected by Team USA and NBC for its lyrical content about overcoming challenges and achieving victory, and will be available on iTunes starting this Friday, August 8th, with all proceeds benefiting Team USA.
