Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Adrenaline Records) - Nickel Creek's singer/fiddler and fellow San Diego surfer Sara Watkins joins Alex Woodard on the soulful "Reno" from his upcoming self-titled debut. The Grammy-winning Watkins lends vocals and fiddle to the ballad, which is about letting go of dreams that don't fit anymore, as well as playing fiddle on a number of tracks on the upcoming CD.

Singer/songwriter Woodard is drawing comparisons to Tom Petty and John Mellencamp for his country-rock sound and honest, gritty lyrics. Woodard's story-driven songwriting with universal themes of love and loss, dreams, hope and struggle is undeniable. Allmusic.com raves, "Like John Cougar Mellancamp, Woodard pens tales instantly recognizable, for they're American stories we've all lived and shared, with the album holding a mirror to us all."

Clear Channel has named Woodard "Artist To Watch" this month in their Developing Artist program.
