New York (Top40 Charts/ SMG Africa) - YouTube drummer Cobus Potgieter has moved up a whopping eight places on the YouTube musician billboard after continuing to delight his worldwide fan base with his seventh series which includes a cover version of one of Kelly Clarkson's latest releases, My life would suck without you.

The track, one of 16 in the series, has notched up a record 245,000 views since its release in July. The series has now earned almost one million views with most views coming from the United States, Great Britain and Canada as well as Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and South America. Female interest is also increasing and now stands at 20%.

nteresting, views from his home country, South Africa, is also rapidly growing. On 27 July 2009, views from South Africa rocketed to 1,900, the highest number of views from South Africa since he loaded his first video in August 2006.

Other songs which have proved equally popular are Blink 182's Feeling This as well as Paramore's Born for this. The three tracks (Clarkson, Blink 182 and Paramore) account for more than 40% of the views for this series. Other tracks feature artists and bands such as Fightstar, John Mayer, Breaking Benjamin, Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Yellowcard.

The White Series follows the Michael Jackson tribute which included four tracks, Beat it, Black or White, Smooth Criminal and Billie Jean. This mini-tribute series' topped around a half a million views with the lead track Beat it the second most rated video in the world days after the release. The combined views of Potgieter's Series' in the past month have now doubled to four million, that's an average daily view count of 60,000.

Potgieter says the response to the White Series has been, "incredibly good, almost too good. The response has been overwhelming and much bigger than the last time. It has been insane."

He is currently working on his first "instructional and documentary" DVD which has already notched up 3,000 confirmed sales of the DVD which is only due to go live for pre-release sales on 21 September 2009.

Potgieter is now the 26th most viewed musician on the social network and is one of three drummers to be featured on TRX's newly launched YouTube drumming channel.
