British Singer/Songwriter Rebecca Bains Lights up North Country Rock Genre
London, UK (Top40 Charts/ Onwards Records) Northern star Rebecca Bains is poised to storm the North Country Rock scene with her debut track Hard Road, released on April 27th.

This catchy anthem is inspired by the American deep South, amalgamated with wailing classic-rock riffs and coupled with her incredible, soaring, classically trained vocals.

Having already gained the attention of thousands of followers at home and overseas via social media, Rebecca is causing quite a stir.

But when asked the all too common question 'why would a British artist make country rock music' Rebecca simply shrugs and says:

"I grew up in total admiration of artists like Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen and the power of their music. They laid so much of the foundation in country and rock that other artists come back to time and again".

"It's a massively appreciated genre in the UK and has been injected in the same way that folk re-emerged into mainstream culture."

Rebecca was indoctrinated into music from an incredibly young age, both her mother and grandmother were Opera singers, and went on to achieve success in a number of West End theatre productions, films and television programs.

"I was brought up in a very eclectic family," she said "I grew up thinking our life was 'normal'. In fact I now know we lived a life that was quite unusual - it was normal practice to go on the road with my parents and grandparents who would play in concerts and shows here, there and everywhere."

One of Rebecca's strongest assets is her ability to intertwine emotional narratives into her music, something she says is always derived from personal experience:

"When you're on the road touring it's a fantastic whirlwind of places and people and new things to learn, and you're always outside of your comfort zone."

"Hard Road is the other side of that, it's a song about that long, lonely journey you make back to your comfort zone and normality, which you miss when you're away. It's like anything though I guess, after a long week's graft, your focus is on getting home."

The Hard Road that she describes will undoubtedly lead her to grassroots America this summer and to all corners of the UK.

Hard Road is available to purchase on iTunes
