AUSTIN, TX. (Smith Music Group) - Smith Entertainment is proud to announce the 4th release of Jason Boland & The Stragglers, "Somewhere In The Middle." This is the second release produced by Texas music legend Lloyd Maines and contains guest appearances by Billy Joe Shaver, Stoney LaRue and Reckless Kelly's Cody Braun.

Jason Boland & The Stragglers are a four piece band out of Stillwater Oklahoma, but have re-rooted themselves on the Texas Music charts and in the hearts of Texas music fans. Lead "straggler," singer and rhythm guitarist Jason Boland is an incredibly talented songwriter. He writes the majority of their songs with thought-provoking lyrics that are far beyond his years. Jason has a country-music-past baritone voice and performs with an air of honesty and understanding, adding even more weight to his lyrics. He has been called everything from "the surfacing king of alt-swing" to "a ghost of country music past" and is backed by a fierce band of the musically well - endowed. In 2002, Austin's "Gruene With Envy" awarded their "Live & Lit At Billy Bob's Texas" release with Best Live Album and awarded their previous release, "Truckstop Diaries," Album Of The Year in 2001.

Jason Boland & The Stragglers have been instrumental in putting quality music back on the radio airwaves, on the covers of magazines nationwide and on the lips of music lovers everywhere. This release is anything BUT "Somewhere In the Middle."

On October 5th, singer/songwriter Drew Womack branches out from Sons of The Desert, and will release an incredible self-titled debut with Smith Entertainment. Drew either wrote or co-wrote all the selections on this release and his first single "Hey Daisy" is presently being released to radio. Some of Drew's friends that added their talent to the project were Radney Foster, Tom Douglas, "The Sons," Scott Saunders, Tim Womack, Doug Virden, Dave Ristrim and Jim Beavers.

The best way to sum up this first solo effort is best said by Drew himself. "All the songs I saved for this CD are my favorites that I've written through the years. With no deadlines or pressure I was able to take my time. I feel the sincerity of an artist really shines through when he or she can prepare for a project and be involved in every move. Needless to say, I've been planning and preparing for this record for a very long time."

Smith Entertainment is in their 2nd year of being a leading national distributor and marketer of independent music by national and regional Texas artists. Artists distributed by the label include catalog from Cross Canadian Ragweed (Universal South), Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Cooder Graw, Cory Morrow, Earl Thomas Conley, Tommy Alverson, Kevin Fowler, Honeybrowne, Gary P. Nunn, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Randy Rogers Band and soon Micky & The Motorcars.
