Timber Timbre To Release Sensual New Album 'Hot Dreams' April 1 Via Arts & Crafts
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Timber Timbre, the critically acclaimed project of singer and songwriter Taylor Kirk, will release its third album, 'Hot Dreams,' April 1 via Arts & Crafts. The follow-up to 2012's Polaris Music Prize short-listed 'Creep On Creepin' On,' which was hailed for its "black humour and spectral beauty" (The Guardian) and "possessed…a style all its own" (Pitchfork), 'Hot Dreams' is Kirk's most vividly cinematic music to date, adding an overt sensuality to Timber Timbre's signature haunted folk. Described by Rolling Stone's David Fricke as sounding "like Nick Cave's Bad Seeds stripped to a low-watt, high-anxiety power trio," the group will kick off a US East Coast run as a four-piece to preview the album at NYC's Mercury Lounge on Feb 13. See below for full dates, and check out the album trailer here: https://youtu.be/XjmQPv6-dDw

The album's 10 tracks came together throughout 2013, as long-time collaborator Simon Trottier stepped forward to join Kirk as co-composer/co-producer. The two arranged much of the music at The Banff Centre, an impossibly beautiful multi-disciplinary arts compound nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, where they developed a new vibrant tonality with song ideas born during a stint Kirk spent in Laurel Canyon. The duo headed east after that, chasing this sound to Calgary's National Music Centre and its staggering museum of rare vintage keyboards and synthesizers.

Mark Lawson (Arcade Fire, Peter Gabriel) mixed the record, which features frequent collaborator/multi-instrumentalist Mika Posen and return contributions from Olivier Fairfield on drums and Mathieu Charbonneau on keys, along with repeat guest Colin Stetson (Bon Iver) on saxophone. Stay tuned for more details and tour dates.
