NASHVILLE, TN. (Arista Nashville) - Country music superstar Alan Jackson's new disc, What I Do, nabs the No 1 spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums and Billboard 200 charts. What I Do becomes Jackson's third disc to debut at No 1, joining his triple-Platinum Greatest Hits Volume II (from 2003), and 2002's four-million-selling Drive, both of which topped the pop and country charts in their first week. What I Do marks Jackson's 14th career album, and one that continues to demonstrate why the reigning CMA Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year has sold more than 43 million albums to date. A four-star review in the September 20 issue of People hailed What I Do as "a CD of rare accomplishment," noting that "Jackson's … pipes are deepening with age, acquiring body like wine in a fine barrel," with a sound "tantamount to approaching perfection." Jackson recently received a bevy of award nominations, including a nod this week for Favorite Male Artist - Country at the 32nd annual American Music Awards, while the Radio Music Awards have recognized Jackson's chart-topping ballad, "Remember When," with a nomination for Country Radio Song of the Year. Jackson currently leads all artists for this November's CMA Awards with seven nominations.
