NASHVILLE, TN. (Webster PR) - Good things come to those who wait, and for Canadian country sensation Brad Johner the wait is finally over.
Infinity Records Nashville has set November16th, as the release date for Johner's debut solo CD in the United States. The album's first single, 'Free,' will be released to radio stations in
September and the album, also named 'Free,' will be in stores in November. The video for the single will be released in
September to Country
Music Television (CMT), Great American Country (GAC) and more than 55 other video outlets across the United States.
'Our plans are to bring Johner's success to the U.S. country music market with a full promotional push behind the single and CD releases,' said George Collier, president of Infinity Records Nashville and former marketing and operations executive at Capitol Nashville who helped create Garth Brooks' first marketing campaign there.
'Marketing plans include radio promotion, video promotion, e-commerce promotion and full retail marketing. We're also looking forward to Brad touring across the country and bringing his incredible musical style to U.S. audiences.'
Brad Johner is chomping at the bit to get the U.S. side of his career off and running. 'It's my first time releasing anything in the U.S. and it is such a huge market. I look forward to introducing my music to a new audience. Being on the same label as Collin Raye as well as the news that they are about to ink other established artists have me excited too.'
The release of 'Free' in the U.S. will differ from that in Canada. 'The packaging is the same as my Canadian release. But there are six songs from the original CD added to reworked versions of songs I've written for The Johner Brothers that have done well in Canada. 'Also I've added a brand new song which is slated for single release in both the States and Canada.'
Since the release of his album, 'Free,' in Canada, Johner has garnered an impressive list of nominations and awards, including 2004 Juno and CCMA nominations, a win at the 2004 Canadian Independent Music Awards for 'Favorite Country Artist/Group', a 2003 Western Canadian Music Award for 'Outstanding Country Album', and 2003 CCMA nominations for 'Album of the Year' and 'SOCAN Song of the Year.'
Johner takes it all in stride, claiming that 'there is no overnight success here.' Indeed, formerly as one half of The Johner Brothers, the duo released four albums and racked up an impressive collection of hit songs and awards.
In the short term future look for Brad Johner at the Canadian Country Music Awards in Edmonton where he's nominated for 'Independent Male Artist of the Year.'
