NASHVILLE, TN. (The Brookes Company/ CMT) - Singers/songwriters/musicians/brothers Brad and
Brett Warren will be seen nationally as two unpredictable music artists, trying to pave their way upward in a business that has embraced them, yet has eluded them.
Produced by John Irwin for Irwin Productions and Melanie Moreau for CMT, based on an original concept from Brett and Brad, the new series follows the brothers day-to-day, covering their comedic antics and music business trials - showcasing a talented, yet underrated duo so attuned to self-deprecation, they named their current 429 Records album "Well-Deserved Obscurity" despite its sales success.
The series takes the brothers from being on a 30-city summer tour with Tim McGraw to their "normal" Nashville day of writing songs, hanging at the Waffle House and working in the studio to Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas where the boys lose yet another award, but find a lot of fun (and trouble) with friends and fellow country stars.
Brett explains, "Brad and I went to Melanie (Moreau) and explained that we had no idea what we wanted to do but that we were really good at it - and Melanie was quick enough to understand how good we are at doing nothing."
Brad adds, "With the support of friends like Tim (McGraw), we were able to go do nothing with them - and with their notoriety and all, it really made for good television. Says McGraw, "Warner Brothers? My wife is on that label. They do a great job and they're good people."
Brad and Brett have written songs for Tim McGraw, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Faith Hill, Sara Evans and countless others. Their current single, "Sell A Lot Of Beer," is garnering heavy radio action. The video for "Sell A Lot Of Beer" - a tongue-in-cheek look at some of their 'favorite' country videos - is currently airing in heavy rotation on CMT.
The Warren Brothers record for 429 Records, a division of the Savoy Label Group (SLG Music). SLG is the North American unit of Columbia Music Entertainment (formerly Nippon Columbia), the oldest music company in Japan. Newly reorganized and now headed by Chairman Strauss Zelnick, Columbia Music Entertainment has reemerged as a significant force with a stable of newly signed platinum-selling artists in Japan and burgeoning unit in SLG stateside.
