Iridium Hosts British Invasion This Fall With Ginger Baker, John Mayall's 80th Birthday Celebration, John Wetton, Mitch Winehouse, Savoy Brown, And More
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) The British are coming to The Iridium in October for a month of star power from across the pond. John Mayall kicks things off with a two-night celebration of his 80th birthday featuring special surprise guests, followed by five nights with the legendary Ginger Baker. Asia's John Wetton, Naked Eyes' Peter Byrne, Savoy Brown, Mitch Winehouse, and Matt Schofield round out the month. See below for details:

Oct 4-5: John Mayall and Friends 80th Birthday Celebration - As founder of the legendary John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, pioneering British guitarist/songwriter John Mayall has been influential in the careers of countless musicians, from Eric Clapton and Peter Green to Mick Fleetwood and Jack Bruce.

Oct 9-13: Ginger Baker - Described as "the most influential percussionist of the 1960s" (AllMusic) for his work with Cream, Ginger Baker has a longstanding love for jazz and world music, and has collaborated across genres with everyone from Bill Frisell to Fela Kuti. He'll make his Iridium debut with a 5-night run.

Oct 14-15: John Wetton - Though Wetton has performed with King Crimson, Brian Eno, Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry, Uriah Heep, and Wishbone Ash among others, his biggest success came fronting the supergroup Asia, which he founded with Yes's Steve Howe. Their self-titled debut sold more than 8 million copies and took the title of Billboard's #1 album in 1982.

Oct 18: Pete Byrne - Best known for his work with Naked Eyes and their iconic cover of "(There's) Always Something There To Remind Me," Pete Byrne has recorded and toured with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Belinda Carlisle.

Oct 19: Savoy Brown feat. Kim Simmonds - One of the earliest of the British blues bands, Savoy Brown helped launch the 1967 UK blues boom that changed the landscape of rock and roll forever.

Oct 24: Mitch Winehouse - At the urging of his daughter Amy, Mitch Winehouse recorded his debut album at the age of 60, blending soul, R&B, and jazz with a song selection revealing an impressive depth of knowledge and impeccable taste.

Oct 26-27: Matt Schofield - Two-time Guitarist of the Year winner at the British Blues Awards Matt Schofield has earned a slew of honors for his playing, a powerful mix of blues, rock, and New Orleans funk. His latest album was rated #1 Blues Album of the Year by MOJO.
