Gardendale, Texas (Top40 Charts/ Webster & Associates) Texas
Thunder Festival is ramping up site preparations for this weekend's music & camping event in Gardendale, Texas, May 17-19. The first-year event's organizers have committed to donating 100% of their net proceeds to benefit the first-responders and schools of the West, TX community. The all-star, all-Texas lineup features performances from The Randy Rogers Band, The Josh Abbott Band, Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew Band, Stoney LaRue, and many more.
Texas Thunder has established a donation fund for the West, TX community for those who are unable to attend the festival. The online donation system will be available starting
Thursday at www.texasthunderfest.com.
The festival's site map has been unveiled, outlining the layout and amenities to make for a huge, three-day backyard party on the prairie. Traffic flow will be efficient and friendly, with four (expandable up to eight) lanes of entry to the festival site, to allow for fast approach with minimal lines at gate checkpoints. General and VIP parking are both located immediately outside the festival bowl for quick entry and exit.
In the festival bowl, a large jumbotron screen will allow for easy viewing, and VIP skybox seating is provided for local sponsors and partners. Bud
Light presents DJ Du in the Electric
Thunder festival tent, with a large EDM PA & lighting array, where festival-goers can dance 'til dawn.
Food and beverage vendors will include tacos, burritos, corn dogs, BBQ, funnel cakes and more. Retail options will include leather goods, hats, jewelry, apparel, glow lights and air brushed tattoos, to name a few. Featured performers will bring their latest artist merchandise, and the festival will have
Texas Thunder-wear as well.
Festival security will be provided in partnership with Ector County Sherriff's Office. Budweiser will also provide a 'Drink Responsibly' designated driver booth. They will call cabs and arrange rides for those that are impaired. The fare from Gardendale to Odessa or
Midland is approximately $30-45; a bargain compared to a DWI conviction & associated penalties. The Budweiser designated driver booth will also solicit pledges from and provide giveaways to adults 21+ who promise to drive their group home safely.
