Montreal's Be Astronaut Signs Record Label Deal & Releases New Full-Length CD
MONTREAL, CANADA (Top40 Charts/ Skylar Entertainment) Montreal rock band Be Astronaut is set to launch their first full-length album The Empire on April 26, 2013 with a CD release party at L'Abreuvoir, Montreal, QC during the Anachronik Fest. The bands catchy lyrics, hitting guitar riffs and rock attitude drew the attention of HMP Recording & Development, a label based in Vancouver, BC. The first single "Black Dress" hits rock radio later this month.

"We are thrilled to have Be Astronaut join HMP Recordings," says label CEO Mark Rosner, "they have built up quite a following in Quebec and we are looking forward to bringing their music and live show to the world."

The Empire follows the bands 2011 self titled EP release which lead to appearances on Musique Plus, Coca-Cola Block Party as the opening act of Sean Paul and Down With Webster and airplay of "Adolf Storms" on CHOM 97.7, Montreal's most listened rock station.

After all the work the band has put into the construction of Be Astronaut's identity and the recording of the new album, singer Guillaume Théroux said "we're honestly very relieved that HMP accepted to help us in our continued growth. They have all the bases covered with the services they offer and we're very excited to work with the team there."

Band members Théroux (vocals and guitars), Pascal Beauregard (drums) and Louis St-Onge (bass guitar) spent 2012 creating The Empire. Musically, several tracks are aggressive with dirtier and edgier guitars while Théroux's stellar vocals are showcased throughout.

"I think what differentiates Be Astronaut from some other rock bands is that we believe in our material," says Theroux. "Our songs possess soul and emotion, and that is carried on stage, at every show."

The album will be released for digital sales on iTunes, Bandcamp, CDbaby and more outlets to follow. A preview single, "Black Dress" is available now on iTunes, CDbaby, and will be released to radio via DMDS by April 4, 2013.
