New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) New Rough Trade artists
Houndmouth have confirmed their first national headlining tour starting in March, with shows at SXSW (including Paste's official showcase), NYC (4/10 at Mercury Lounge, 4/11 at Rockwood), and
Chicago (4/18 at the Hideout). The group is also confirmed to play two dates with the
Alabama Shakes and
Michael Kiwanuka in March, and the Newport Folk Festival in July. Details of their debut album on Rough Trade will soon be announced.
Though barely a year old, the group is already in the midst of their first European tour and has hit the road with artists like the Drive By Truckers,
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, and Lucero. With a passionate following in their hometown Louisville, the group - comprised of Matt Myers (guitar/vocals), Katie Toupin (keyboard/vocals), Zak Appleby (bass/vocals) and Shane Cody (drums/vocals) - was named Louisville's Artist of 2012 by WFPK and #2 Best Local Band (behind My Morning Jacket) by the Leo Weekly.
