Composer Andersen Viana Receives Composition Award In California-USA!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Susanville Symphony) One of the most prestigious and new American orchestras, the Susanville Symphony, hosted in California, awarded the composer ANDERSEN VIANA in the "2012 Susanville Symphony Composition Competition".

The work "Concert Piece in blue" for violin and symphonic orchestra, got the First Prize at the International Category between 50 composers from all over the world. The composer's applications were anonymous in all the stages. The committee granted the first prize to Andersen Viana based in the artistic and techniques qualities of the piece. Beyond amount in dollars, the work will be also played by the orchestra in the next April, in the orchestral series "THE MODERN COMPOSER".

Accordingly with the orchestra artistic director maestro Benjamin J. Wade: "We chose this piece for variety of melodies, memorable phrases, a fresh approach to modern orchestral music and an overall incredibly aesthetically pleasing format. The mind was never allowed to entertain monotony..."

"Concert Piece in blue" has some jazz references and arising from rhythms of the Brazilian folklore, trying to do, at the same time, a new approach to the orchestral music, using elements from various aesthetics and cross culture, that could be understood universally.
