Shane Yellowbird Releases "Pick Up Truck" To American Market
Nashville, Tenn. (Top40 Charts/ Aristo PR) Canadian Country artist Shane Yellowbird is releasing "Pick Up Truck," his chart-topping Canadian single and video to the US market this month.

The single, from Yellowbird's Life Is Calling My Name album, was a Top-5 radio hit in his native Canada, and the accompanying video went to #1 at CMT in Canada. It has garnered over 300,000 views on You Tube and other video outlets. The song was instrumental in establishing Yellowbird as a rising Canadian Country star and is still heavily requested on Canadian Country radio.

Yellowbird's album, Life Is Calling My Name, charted four consecutive Top 10 Billboard singles in Canada and earned him the Rising Star of the Year award at the Canadian Country Music Awards. Following its release, he appeared on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, where he performed "Pick Up Truck."

Yellowbird grew up on an Indian reservation in Alberta, Canada, where he learned the rodeo circuit and cowboy lifestyle from his parents. Born with a pronounced stutter, however, Yellowbird discovered his love of music as a child in speech therapy sessions, when his therapist suggested he try singing his sentences. The technique spurred Yellowbird's interest in music and helped direct the young sketch artist and aspiring hockey player to pursue a career in Country music instead.

Yellowbird has received the Aboriginal Entertainer of the Year award at the Aboriginal People's Choice Awards and won Best Country Recording at the Native American Music Awards. Life Is Calling My Name received a nomination at the Juno Awards for Country Recording of the Year.
