Alvia Dale Sandberg Releases Debut LP, "Farm Boy"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ MondoTunes) Alvia Dale Sandberg got his start in music as a boy in Burns, WY., after finding his father's guitar in a closet of their farmhouse. He learned to play by trading labor for lessons. Hard work and respect have always been important to Sandberg, and they would have an impact on his music as well.

Those small-town values haven't lost any of their luster since those early days, and Sandberg's simple, homespun melodies reflect the hardworking sensibility that brought Sandberg from those early days playing in church, to this culmination of his dreams.

With "Farm Boy," his debut LP, Sandberg brings those classic values to the modern world. Touching, poignant, and earnest, "Farm Boy" is a paean to a simpler time.

Songs like "Yes Ma'am," "Old Family Album," and "She Prays For Me" are just Sandberg and his guitar, but the power of the song fills the room anyways. That's true for the entire album. Honor, respect, morality, and hard work are themes woven throughout the album.

Musically, Sandberg cites a variety of influences.

"I have an appreciation for all genres of music. However, at the top of any artistic influence list would be Roger Clyne of The Refreshments and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. Also, growing up in small farm town near Cheyenne, WY, I was inspired by the artists who frequented Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. George Strait, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Chris LeDoux just to name a few. At some point in my life, I started to gain a love and respect for the singer/songwriter styles of Derek Webb, Bebo Norman, Todd Thibaud and Steven Ashbury. As a songwriter, I've been inspired by Marc Beeson, Lisa Carver, Gary Burr and countless others."

"Farm Boy" is more than just an album, it's a time capsule from a more honest era.
