Davy Knowles Releases Woody Guthrie's "Pastures Of Plenty" To Benefit Whyhunger
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Davy Knowles Official Website) Named #6 in Gibson's Top 10 Modern Blues Guitarists (August 2012), DAVY KNOWLES releases his version of Woody Guthrie's song "Pastures of Plenty" in celebration of this year's Woody Guthrie Centennial with a portion of proceeds being donated to WhyHunger. With this partnership, Davy announces his membership in WhyHunger's Artists Against Hunger & Poverty program.

"Pastures of Plenty" is being released in advance of the upcoming album produced by Steve Chrisanthou (Corinne Bailey Rae) due for release in early 2013 through Rogue Island Entertainment.

"It's a song of hard times, of itinerant migrant workers crisscrossing the dustbowls of America in search of 'green pastures of plenty,'" says the guitarist, singer and songwriter, who originally hails from Isle of Man. "In this current eco and commercial climate, Woody's words seem just as relevant today. Whilst in no way comparing myself to a 1930's crop picker or construction worker, as a migrant musician myself, I do feel privileged to work in this great country and can truly relate to this song."

"Davy's commitment to working with us is evident with the release of his latest single, 'Pastures of Plenty,'" said Hillary Zuckerberg, Director of Artists Against Hunger & Poverty. "With many of our grassroots partners struggling right now due to drought, environmental and financial issues, this song resonates strongly with the work of so many farmers and workers whose job it is every day to feed their communities throughout the world. We are honored to have the song associated with us and to receive a portion of proceeds from its sales."
