LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Sticky Toffee PR) Born in 1988 of a Caribbean and European heritage, Ivy discovered his love for music at just 10 years of age, singing in a choir at his local church on a weekly basis.
Little did he know that these humble beginnings would see music become a main focal point in his life, and lead to a varied and fruitful career in entertainment years down the line.
During his early teens, Ivy formed part of various musical groups and crews, aligning himself with the likes of recent Universal Records signing
Random Impulse, Wretch 32, D Dark, Frisco, Tippaly, Caps, Shocka (now a member of Marvel), Calibar and many other local rappers and artists. As a member of the revered music group Combo Chain Gang, Ivy dominated local pirate station 'Heat FM', collaborated with the likes of Ghetts and Scorcher, and appeared on several prolific DVD releases alongside international rap stars including the infamous Rick Ross.
Following his departure from Combo Chain Gang and the ensuing mainstream solo success of previous member Wretch 32, Ivy went on to form his current imprint, 'R.O.S.E
Music Group', alongside longtime friends and business partners Wizzy Wow, Tippaly, Makesa Malen and Shimmy Styles. Under this new imprint, Ivy released his critically acclaimed mixtape 'The CrossOver', and collaborated on various records alongside Wizzy Wow and DisturbingLondon rapper GFrSH. 2011 also saw Ivy partner with a close relative to launch his clothing line 'Cloud 9', which forms the final piece of his varied creative jigsaw.
With everything finally in place for London Ivy to push for mainstream success, March 2012 saw the release of his official debut single 'Everybody Clap', featuring infamous UK producer / songwriter Wizzy Wow. The single picked up impressive support from bloggers, DJs and tastemakers alike, with Kickstart Magazine labelling the track as "one of the most impressive UK rap singles we've heard in a long time". Ivy then followed up with his second single 'U Gotta Feel It, which again received outstanding love and support from the blogosphere.
London Ivy now returns with his most exciting single to date - an epic, upbeat RnB styled anthem titled 'Do You Wanna Ride'. Featuring thumping production from Ivy's musical cohort Nutty P, the record is set to be a sure fire hit on radio, online and in clubs this summer. The audio is available to stream exclusively below, with a video currently in production and due for release later this month.
'Do You Wanna Ride' is taken from London Ivy's forthcoming 12 track free download project 'C.A.R.C.D' (The Conquer and Rule CD), which is due for release shortly.
