New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ MTS Management) If you live in Alaska, you may have already seen the comical commercial, featuring a hillbilly redneck tossing a stick of dynamite into a stream, to demonstrate his fishing technique. Well, that crazy character is none other than the Alaskan Cowboy and country music artist, Doug Briney. Doug is making his television commercial debut in this spot taped for Channel 2 KTUU. The clip is to advertise KTUU's Summer Fishing Report, and it began airing last Friday during their 6 o'clock newscast. The hilarious ad can also be seen on Doug's Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/akdougjr, or the direct link at https://youtu.be/ka6A_DZUVJY.
"I got the call to do this commercial only a few hours before they were ready to shoot," says Doug. "I was told that they needed a hillbilly for the spot, and that I would be perfect for it. I didn't know whether to be offended or what...but, I loved doing it. Now, I need to add a few good fishing songs to my shows!"
KTUU-TV was established as KFIA in 1953 and has since become an award-winning broadcaster in the nation's largest viewing area. With bureaus in Anchorage and Juneau, their viewing area covers more than 586,000 square miles, an area greater than California,
