LOS ANGELES (www.sincitymarketing.com) - Keith Richards will join a star-studded group of artists who are paying tribute to Gram Parsons, the man who showed him the mechanics of country music and forever influenced the sound of the Rolling Stones. Return to Sin City: A Tribute to Gram Parsons will take place on July 9, 2004 at the Santa Barbara Bowl and July 10, 2004 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.
The idea for the concerts first came to Polly Parsons when she met her father's long time friend. Keith made Polly realize how important it was to preserve and promote Gram's pioneering country-roots rock, telling her she is the "last bit of her father left on the planet." The conversation prompted her to begin a two-year journey recruiting close friends and ardent fans of her father, as well as contemporary artists inspired by his work, for two historical concerts on the West Coast.

Keith has always called Gram one of the "biggest names in country music," despite the fact that he never had a hit record, and now artists who have sold millions of records are gathering together in his honor.
The two shows will feature performances by Norah Jones, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakam, Raul Malo/The Mavericks, John Doe, eastmountainsouth, Kathleen Edwards, Jay Farrar, Jim James/My Morning Jacket, Jim Lauderdale, Susan Marshall, and The Sin City All Stars.

Tickets for Return to Sin City: A Tribute to Gram Parsons, with prices starting at $40, are now available through Ticketmaster or by logging on to the official website www.gramparsonstribute.com.

Net proceeds from the concerts will be donated to the Musicians' Assistance Program (MAP), which makes it possible for members of the music industry to receive treatment for drug and alcohol addiction regardless of their financial situation.
