New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Warp Records) As part of a tight-knit group of young musicians, Kwes has been helping to stitch together a new and creative scene in his hometown of London for the last several years. Working on early demos for The xx, producing tracks for Mercury Prize winner Speech Debelle, and collaborating with Micachu (of Micachu and the Shapes) lead to remix requests from the likes of
Hot Chip and Damon Albarn, who would later call upon the producer for his DRC
Music Project. In 2009 he released his debut single on XL Recordings/Salvia, and the following year came his debut EP No Need To Run on Young Turks, which have released music from the likes of The xx, SBTRKT, and Glasser.

His new EP Meantime will be coming out this May, and will feature four tracks that expand upon his "free-pop" sound which Kwes describes as pop music without limitations or expectations, free to incorporate his equal love of R&B, house, soul, pop and disco. Evident in new track "bashful" this release also prominently features his new-soul vocals which bring to life his earnest, heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics. His ability to make synthetic sounds feel achingly human is what makes his music so appealing.
US audiences are now able to experience these songs live for the first time this month at SXSW. Although Kwes played his first solo show this past November he is no stranger to the stage having played as part of the live band for artists like Jack Penate, Ebony Bones, and Leftfield.
