New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) Carly Rae Jepsen, the Canadian singer and songwriter who has pop fans buzzing about her current single "Call Me Maybe," has signed to Schoolboy Records, created by Scooter Braun and run by Braun and multi platinum Schoolboy artist Justin Bieber.

The irresistibly catchy "Call Me Maybe," which Jepsen co-wrote, began to climb the iTunes Singles chart after Bieber tweeted the song to his 17.5 million followers. It received an additional boost after Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and other young stars filmed themselves lip-synching and dancing to the song and posted the video on Big Time Rush actor and singer Carlos Pena's YouTube Channel, where it racked up a million views in 24 hours and became a trending topic on Twitter. It has now earned more than eight million views, while the official video has attracted 4.5 million views. "Call Me Maybe" has been certified double-platinum in Jepsen's native Canada where it hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 and became the first song by a Canadian artist to top the digital chart since Bieber's "Baby." Fans can submit their own versions of the video, or watch other fans videos by visiting https://carlycallme.tumblr.com/ starting tomorrow.

"This experience so far is renewing hope in me that dreams come true. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Schoolboy/Interscope family," says Carly.

Music executive Scooter Braun says, "Every once in a while you stumble upon an artist that really fills a gap in the industry, Carly is that artist. Not only is she kind, sweet and hardworking but she is truly a genuine talent. She had me sold from the moment she told me she sees herself as a sexy hippie."

"I feel as an artist I have a responsibility to pay it forward. When I was home in Canada I heard Carly and I became a fan and felt like I could help her the way Usher once helped me. The good news is she is a superstar," declares Justin Bieber.

Jepsen may be a newcomer in the U.S., but the Mission, British Columbia, native is an established artist in Canada where she placed third on the fifth season of Canadian Idol and landed a record deal with Fontana/Maple Music. She has scored two previous gold singles and received numerous awards and accolades, including 2010 Juno Award nominations for "Songwriter of the Year" and "Best New Artist" as well as a 2010 MuchMusic Video Award nomination for "UR Fave New Artist." She has sold more than 200,000 singles in her home country and is signed to 604 Records in Canada.
