New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) In 2011 Bastrop County,
Texas witnessed the worst wildfire season in state history, destroying more than 1600 homes and thousands of trees. In response, Hill Country Live DC, Washington DC's home for Americana and roots music, has confirmed a Jan 30 benefit show to raise desperately needed funds for relief efforts.
SiriusXM Outlaw Country's Dallas Wayne will host and perform along with Sons of Bill, The Deep Dark Woods and Chris Berardo & The DesBerardos Acoustic Trio. Senator John Cornyn is confirmed to attend. Additionally, the evening will feature both a silent and live auction. More artists TBA. The concert follows a similar event at Hill Country Live NY which raised thousands for relief.
Funds will be administered by United Way Capital Area of
Texas (UWCA) and the Bastrop City Council. A Bastrop County Long-Term Recovery Committee has formed to meet needs in the county. Natasha Rosofsky from UWCA is acting co-chair, and is an advisor to the Hill Country Live Wildfire Benefit, along with Debbie Bresette from the UWCA and Kay Garcia McAnally from The Bastrop City Council.
