LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ L.A. County Fair Oficial Website) Coming off a record-breaking year with nearly 1.5 million guests, the L.A. County Fair is celebrating its 90th birthday by making Labor Day 2012 a four-day holiday weekend. The world's largest county Fair will open its gates at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31 -- the earliest opening in the Fair's illustrious history.
Guests will enjoy special $1 admission for the first three hours each day Aug. 31-Sept. 3. Carnival and soft drink specials will be sprinkled throughout the four days, too.
Friday's grand opening will feature a spectacular, commemorative parade to kick-off the 90th birthday celebration and adds an extra night of fabulous entertainment at the End of Summer Concert Series.
Leisure!
What a way to end the summer! By opening Aug. 31, the Fair has created the longest weekend of fun possible. That's more time to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the one-and-only L.A. County Fair -- an extended weekend to watch fast and furious porcine racers haul hooves for a cookie, take more trips on the scream-inducing TechnoJump and ignore your diet one last time as you jubilantly bite into a maple-bacon donut.
Summer ends, school begins but the L.A. County Fair requires one last romp at fun. Enjoy entertainment as it turns into education right before your eyes with the Fair's fun and enriching exhibits and attractions. And with four days of incredible savings, you can keep coming back, and back and back.
90 is the New Fun
Who else can look this good at 90 but the L.A. County Fair? New creative programming, along with traditional gems, keeps the Fair stunningly refreshing. Expect to see returning favorites like the animals in the Big Red Barn and an amazing British floral display in the Flower & Garden Pavilion as the Fair salutes London, in honor of its hosting the Summer Games. New exhibits and attractions, as well as the exciting End of Summer Concert Series lineup, will be announced soon.
Venues Today recently announced that the L.A. County Fair has retained its position as No. 4 on the publication's Top 50 Fairs and Festivals in North
America list. 2012 should be no different! See you at the 90th anniversary celebration, Aug. 31-Sept. 30.
