Operation Homefront is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency assistance for military troops, the families they leave behind and wounded warriors when they return home. They raise funds to provide emergency, financial and morale assistance to families while troops are participating in a tour of duty. Operation Homefront has more than 4,000 volunteers and two dozen chapters nationwide. Since its creation in 2001, the organization has met the needs of over 257,000 military families and military personnel returning from duty.
"I'm very passionate about the work Operation Homefront does," said Barry. "These families sacrifice so much when one of their loved ones is away from home for so long. I can't imagine the anguish they go through, so it means a lot to have that recognized. And I'm just so honored to be a part of such a significant night for these families."
Barry got his start in the world of entertainment when he was just a young boy singing on his father's Saturday morning radio show in Atlanta. It quickly became apparent that he had a knack for entertaining people and as he got older he was given the chance to sing for millions on his own TV show, a sports broadcasting program. Barry was able to explore several creative fields all at once—writing, producing, acting and of course, singing. After he realized music was his first priority career-wise, Barry fully committed to his singing profession and signed with Stockbridge Records who released his debut album, Ripped Blue
Jeans and ATVs. He has had the privilege of performing at Caesar's Palace in Las
Vegas in addition to opening up for country hit-makers such as Tim McGraw, Kellie Pickler,
Craig Morgan and John Michael Montgomery. Up next for this born-again cowboy is getting back in the studio to start work on his anticipated sophomore effort.
