Cleveland Pops Orchestra Remake Of 1946 Cleveland Browns Fight Song Debuts
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Cleveland POPS Orchestra) Carl Topilow and the Cleveland POPS Orchestra recently recorded the classic Cleveland Browns fight song "Hi O Hi O for Cleveland." The new version was unveiled on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Cleveland Browns Stadium during a special induction ceremony of Cleveland Browns Legends.

POPS conductor Carl Topilow enlisted their principle trombonist and highly-acclaimed arranger Paul Ferguson to create four orchestrations in a variety of musical styles, including a march, Dixieland, rock-and-roll showcasing electric guitar, and a version for a pops-style vocal quartet. Producer George Veras, a thirteen-time Emmy Winner produced the recording. View the music video here.

The original version of the song was played at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium, the former home of the Browns, from 1946 until it was retired in the 1960's.

The Cleveland POPS Orchestra first garnered national attention in 2003 with the recording of the three theme songs of "The Drew Carey Show." The songs were arranged for orchestra by Cleveland Pops principal trombonist Paul Ferguson and have become part of many of the show's programs, which are syndicated worldwide.

The ensemble was commissioned in 2008 to provide the music for "Smucker's Hot Ice, Cool Sounds," a two-hour television special featuring The Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Peter Cetera, former lead singer of the group "Chicago," and a star-studded list of Olympic and world-class figure skaters. The broadcast aired Christmas day 2008 on nationwide television. George Veras produced the show.
