Slave Lake Regional Library Named Main Recipient From Paul Brandt's 'Up From The Ashes' Benefit Concert
EDMONTON, CANADA (Top40 Charts/ Brookline Public Relations) Paul Brandt, with special guests High Valley, will perform Wednesday evening at the Winspear Centre in support of the fire-ravaged region of Slave Lake. Through significant partnerships and ticket sales, the concert will raise over $100,000 which will go directly to Slave Lake. Additional proceeds from tonight's concert merchandise sales and individual donations will also go to the cause.

Proceeds raised will help to supply materials for re-building the interior of the Slave Lake Regional Library including chairs, desks, shelves, lighting and computers, all of which were destroyed in the fire. In addition, a special collection of hand-selected books will be donated on behalf of Paul Brandt's Priceless Gift of Hope Foundation (priceles$.).

"The library was such a special, peaceful place that brought the community together to explore lifelong learning. Many of us worked hard to build that library and felt it was the highlight of our government centre," said Karina Pillay-Kinnee, Mayor of Slave Lake. "We are extremely grateful for the generosity and compassion of concertgoers as we rebuild our facilities throughout town."

Although the Slave Lake region still faces a long road ahead, the town has graciously decided to pay forward 25 per cent of the concert proceeds to the Haiti Outreach Ministries a school, church, clinic and community facility operating in an area of Haiti that was deeply impacted by the 2010 earthquake.

"Through the support of many generous individuals and organizations we are starting to rebuild the affected areas of our region. There is a lot of work to be done, but we also recognize there are areas of the world going through a great deal of suffering and heartache. As a town, we made the decision that we need to continue to support others as we re-build ourselves, just as we would have done before the fire. It's about being a good citizen and showing compassion, not only for our neighbours in the Slave Lake region, but around the world as well." added Pillay-Kinnee.

'Up From the Ashes' is coordinated by priceles$. and presented with generous support from your Alberta Ford Dealers and UFA Co-operative Limited (UFA).

"UFA was built on the concept of neighbours helping neighbours, and tonight's concert is a true manifestation of this philosophy," said Bob Nelson, President and CEO, UFA. "We are proud to help re-build the library and commend Slave Lake for paying it forward to others."

"Your Alberta Ford dealers recognize the importance of rebuilding Slave Lake and we'd like to thank all Albertans who have stepped up to help the community," said Gerald Wood, General Manager, Western Region - Ford of Canada. "This incredible concert will undoubtedly change many lives for the better."

Other special partners included Live Nation Entertainment, The Agency Group, Brand-T Records, Brookline Public Relations, Air Canada, Delta Hotels Edmonton, Sanjel and Spark The Branding Shop.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the sponsors for their incredible acts of kindness in helping to make this concert a reality," said Paul Brandt. "Your donations and support will go a long way towards healing the community of Slave Lake."

Guests at the sold out event will be treated to the first live performance of several singles from Paul's new album Give it Away was released on September 13th.
