Justin Martell To Work With Blue Pie And The Tiny Tim Project
Sydney, AUSTRALIA (Top40 Charts/ Blue Pie) Blue Pie is currently working on an exclusive deal for the Tiny Tim release to include Justin Martell's biography on the superstar.

Justin Martell, a passionate and inspirational writer, is currently in the midst of writing a book on Tiny Tim, which he will be contributing to Blue Pie's Tiny Tim project and the re-release of his catalogue.

Justin first encountered Tiny Tim at the age of seven when he attended Spooky World, a Halloween theme park in Massachusetts. By chance, he happened to catch Tiny's act and as a young boy, was completely entranced by his presence. Hearing "Tip-Toe Thru' the Tulips With Me" when he was 15 years old reignited his love for Tiny Tim, hearing the song dislodged the old memory of seeing Tiny perform. From there, Justin began to collect anything and everything Tiny Tim related. After exhausting all official releases, he turned to bootlegs and became involved with the large network of Tiny Tim collectors in the United States and Canada.

In February of 2008, Justin conducted an interview with Ron DeBlasio (Tiny's manager from 1968-1970) for what was to be a simple article for Journalism 101. Almost 80 interviews and 700 pages later, he has almost finished his book with his first draft of an authorized biography of Tiny Tim.

Now based in Astoria, New York Justin is in the process of putting together the authorized biography of Tiny Tim. The book contains: a 34-page chapter dealing specifically with Tiny Tim's work with Martin Sharp, exclusive interviews with the Australian artist himself, and the book also takes its name from the nickname which Martin Sharp bestowed upon Tiny Tim. The book will cover the life and work of Tiny Tim and his musical contributions to the world, which not only inspired but also entertained many people.

Other Tiny-Tim-related projects that Justin has been working on include: serving as a project consultant and historian for the 2009 Collector's Choice Records release of Tiny Tim, serving as project consultant and historian on the 2011 Secret Seven Records release of Tiny Tim - "Lost & Found (Rare and Unreleased 1963-1974)." He also runs the largest Tiny Tim Facebook community. It is very active with fans of all ages, countries, and walks of life.

The book will accompany the re-release of Tiny Tim's catalogue to be distributed through Blue Pie.

ABOUT TINY TIM:
www.tinytim.org

Herbert Khaury began singing and playing the ukulele in his natural voice until discovering his ability to sing in an upper register: "I was listening to the radio and singing along as I was singing I said 'Gee, it's strange. I can go up high as well'." He then entered a local talent show and sang You Are My Sunshine in his newly discovered falsetto, and it brought the house down. After experimenting with different state names, he finally settled on Tiny Tim in 1962.

In 1968, his first album God Bless Tiny Tim was released. It contained an orchestrated version of Tiptoe Through the Tulips whilst the other songs displayed his wide-ranging knowledge of the American songbook. This then led to a series of albums from Tiny Tim, including: Tiny Tim's Second Album (1968), The Grammy Award nominated For All My Little Friends (1969), Wonderful World Of Romance (limited edition, 1980), Chameleon (limited edition, 1980), Tiny Tim: The Eternal Troubador (1986), Tip-Toe Thru The Tulips/Resurrection (1987), Tiny Tim Rock (1993), I Love Me (1993), Songs of an Impotent Troubadour (1994) and many, many more.

Sometime in the fall of 1968, Tiny Tim was invited by Beatle George Harrison to come to his hotel room in Manhattan. Tiny recounts: I said to him, it is a pleasure meeting you, a member of the greatest recording vocal group in the history of popular music." I said, "Do you mind if I sing you a song? He said, "No, go right ahead." (Tiny sings "Nowhere Man" in his high voice). He said, "Wait a minute, just say, 'Merry Christmas Beatles' and go into that song." The Beatles used this on their 1968 Fan Club Christmas message flexi-disc.

In August 1970, Tiny Tim performed at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 in front of a crowd of 600,000 people. His performance, which included English folk songs and rock and roll classics, was a huge hit with the multinational throng of hippies. At the climax of his set, he sang "There'll Always Be an England" through a megaphone which brought the huge crowd to its feet. This can be seen in the 1995 movie of the event, Message to Love.

In September 1996, he suffered a heart attack just as he began singing at a ukulele festival at the Montague Grange Hall in Montague, Massachusetts.
