Enchanting Singer & Instrumentalist Alyson Greenfield Will Celebrate New Covers EP At The Mercury Lounge July 18th
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roc-Elle Records) Roc-elle records is pleased to announce the release party for Alyson Greenfield's new EP, Rock Out With Your Glockenspiel Out, scheduled for Monday July 18th at the Mercury Lounge in NYC's Lower East Side. The album, on sale July 19th on roc-elle records, contains five undeniably unique covers of ubiquitous pop songs such as the '90s hits "All That She Wants" (Ace of Base) and "Mama Said Knock You Out" (LL Cool J), as well as the cult favorite "Milkshake" by Kelis. The album, which showcases the artist's singular vocals and performance style, features Greenfield playing piano and, in a nod to her flair for instrumental experimentation, the aforementioned glockenspiel. Greenfield's cover of Coolio's smash hit "Gangsta's Paradise" - an undeniable cultural memory for Americans who came of age in the 1990s - has already garnered buzz and media coverage at SXSW and in NYC; it was most recently featured at the 2010 International Human Beatbox Convention and was plugged by the Huffington Post. An official music video for "Gangsta's Paradise," directed by Adam Holz and Michael Artsis and produced by Artsis Media, will debut online later this month.

A singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and founder of the Tinderbox Music Festival, Greenfield experiments with pianos, guitars, autoharps, synthesizers, glockenspiels, chord organs, drums, and beatboxers. A natural wordsmith, Greenfield dove back into her musical roots while completing an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Alabama, an experience which became the inspiration for her second album, Tuscaloosa. Since arriving on the NYC scene in 2009, the musician has been recognized by publications such as The Huffington Post, Gothamist, Paste, Relix, The LA Examiner, The Deli, Venus Zine, and more. Her music has been heard on Fox Televeision and Rubyfruit Radio, as well as live from the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City to the Foyer de L'air in Mali, West Africa. Rock Out With Your Glockenspiel Out will be Greenfield's 4th release. Greenfield has collaborated with Chicago electronica trio Future Rock, who remixed her song "Understand The Sky" for their 2010 release, Live At Wicker
Park. She has performed the song live with Future Rock at venues such as The Music Hall of Williamsburg and Le Poisson Rouge. Greenfield's original composition of "Understand the Sky" can also be heard in the feature film Conception, by writer-director Josh Stolberg (Piranha 3D, Good Luck Chuck).
