NEW YORK (Blues online magazine) - B.B. King will not make it to his annual homecoming in Indianola, Mississippi, in June because he needs cataract surgery and recuperation will be lengthy, his manager said. King, 78, issued a statement through the manager, saying he was disappointed that he would not be able to make the June 11 trip to the Mississippi Delta town. "It's a highlight of my year, and I was looking forward to seeing everyone and performing at home again," said King, who now lives in Las Vegas. "I regret I must cancel, but promise to be in Indianola again as soon as I can work it into my schedule." The surgery is scheduled for June 3, and recuperation is expected to take three weeks.
