New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Varkity Music Group) Taken from the term "to take" with a pinch of French dressing; native of Englewood, NJ and currently filling the streets of Florida, 22 year-old Embezz
Pierre eloquently describes himself through his art as "a poet first" and difference from the
Dirty South Era.
"I feel like its me against them," said Pierre. "Friday (March 11th) I had a show at Bootleggers in Defuniak Springs, Florida. The people who performed before me sounded like Lil Boosie. Then when I hit the stage, the crowd just stood there. But I still gave them a show."
Pierre has only been in the game for almost three years, but has it locked like a veteran. Raised by his mother, Pierre absored several influences, enabling him to adapt to just about any genre. With songs like "Lets Be Honest" and "Biscuits & Gravy", Pierre is a natural, versatile individual.
"Theres a spot in town called Water Burger. Before I go to work i get the $2.00 biscuits and gravy meal. One day i sang it to myself, and i thought it would be a dope song!" said Pierre.
Growing up, Pierre was raised in the church, with his father being a musician in the same enviroment.
"I always had a passion for music," said Pierre proudly. "My father played instrumental jazz alot. When we were in the car, I used to add my own corny little lyrics to it."
Diverse in various ways, Pierre used to dance. He was the choreographer for his middle school and church and he's not ashamed of his theatrical side, admiring members from Glee. With the upcoming mixtape Creative Hiatus approaching in April, Pierre has his "Tunnel Vision" on full blast, letting no one get in your way to your dreams.
"Tunnel Vision is when people try to get you to do something you KNOW you dont want to do. Thats when you go for what YOU want and not let anyone tell you different. Im 6'4. People said I should play basketball. But I tell them no, this is what I do. Tunnel Vision," said Pierre. "No excuses."
In 2008, Pierre won the Abstraxx Stand Alone Music Conest and since then more accomplishments followed, obtaining a mixtape on ITunes and shooting the music video "New Year" on 42nd street in 2010.
Believing in his work, poetry is a natural flow. Everytime you write you have to "unlock a code" in his lyrics. Catch Embezz Pierre perform in the Sunshine State March 17th at ScoreBoard on Okaloosa Island! FT Walton Beach, Florida. Words of encouragement? Hear if for yourself!
"Believe! Having faith is being in secure in yourself!"
