Randy Kohrs Headlines Local Community Festival, Celebrates Songwriting Success
Wilmington, DE (Top40 Charts/ Left of Center Records) On May 28th, 2011, Grammy-winning Producer/Artist Randy Kohrs will bring his band out of winter dormancy to perform at the 4th Annual Hands Together in Flatrock Music & Arts Festival in Nashville, TN. Playing their unique blend of Americana, Blues, Country, and Bluegrass, they will take the stage at 3:00pm.

"I'm thrilled to be able to play the festival this year as it's literally right down the street from my recording studio. The opportunity to promote the music community in my own backyard gives the show a more personal meaning to me," Kohrs explains. "This older neighborhood has deep roots in music, from Brenda Lee, who's even still here, and the Everly Brothers, to several other currently-working musicians like me. I'd love to see that aspect continue to build!"

With an ever-growing reputation as a musical Renaissance man, Kohrs has enjoyed some recent success in another realm of the industry, as well. The legendary Blind Boys of Alabama just recorded a song he co-wrote, entitled "Can You Give Me a Drink," which ended up on their brand new release, Take the High Road. The project features some of Nashville's finest country stars, and Vince Gill was chosen to sing lead on the bluesy tune. Kohrs, a world-renowned resonator guitarist, can also be heard playing a metal-body slide guitar on that song, as well as another one. To date, his musical handiwork can be heard on over 600 recordings, from Dolly Parton and Alabama to Little Big Town and Dierks Bentley.

Incidentally, Kohrs recorded his own version of "Can You Give Me a Drink" on his highly-acclaimed solo CD, Old Photograph, released on Rural Rhythm Records in 2008, which boasts American Idol alum Melinda Doolittle as a featured guest. His more recent CD, Quicksand, released in 2010 on the same label .
