Since the release of his well-received 2004 debut solo CD "Remembrance", a tribute to legendary saxophonist
George Howard, he has grandly performed at numerous well known settings in the US engaging a substantial fan base at each debut. With "Something To Ride 2", his sophomore release on Mo Better Recordings, Dee
Lucas further develops his own distinctive style by bringing a more urban funk sound to his smooth tunes that is more than just pleasing to the ear. His audacious sound has received airplay from over 115
Radio Stations, and now with 2 hit releases "A
Little Elbow Room" and "
Standing Room Only" he is staying chart bound on www.smoothjazz.com along with other indie charts around the world where he hails in the Top 20.
Dee
Lucas is a 'true' self-taught musician. The 42-year old Atlanta-based artist did not pick up the sax until the age of 28. His inspiration, tenacity and drive now illuminates the hidden gift he possesses as a vibrant composer and lush saxophonist.
Lucas affectionately collaborates with his peers on various fine tuned projects coupled with a busy schedule of upcoming performances including the Blue Note - New York on April 2nd and the 2011 Yuma
