Tucson's 2nd Saturdays Downtown Goes Irish For St. Patrick's Day
Tucson, AZ (Top40 Charts/ 2nd Saturdays Downtown) A confluence of great entertainment and family-friendly fun will take place in the heart of Tucson on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Congress Street will play host to the St. Patrick's Day Parade from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with the Zsa Zsas rocking the Rialto Theatre, 318 E. Congress Street, for an Irish themed concert starting at 9 p.m.

The Zsa Zsas, with tongues firmly implanted in cheeks, will perform as the "McZsas." The group is known for its hilarious cover performances and will feature a game show that offers the winner a free trip to Mexico. Lead singer Milos McSucrose (David Slutes) commented, "We play every Irish song ever written! Better than U2, better than Enya. Much better. Better legs."

The Fox Theatre, 17 W. Congress Street, will feature the acclaimed Tucson Jazz Institute performing two sets between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. In honor of Tucson's multi-cultural population, the outdoor Scott Avenue Stage includes the Celtic rock of The Dusty Buskers (6 p.m-7 p.m.), country music by The Cornerstone Band (7:15 p.m.-8:30 p.m.) and A Son y Sol's Latin American music with a twist (8:45 p.m-10 p.m.)

The Screening Room will boast a free preview of its April AZ International Film Festival from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Musicians and performers will line Congress Street from the east end to the west end with eclectic tunes, stilt walkers, break dancers and living statues.

Merchant discounts will be offered throughout downtown and numerous street vendors will be on hand as well.

2nd Saturdays Downtown runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and most performances are free. Sponsors include Jim Click Automotive, MEB Property Management, Hollis Graphics, Cox Communications, Wells Fargo Bank, KXCI 91.3 FM and Providence Service Corporation.
