Nyc Country Band Hosts Cancer Fundraiser
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Trailer Radio Official Website)

Trailer Radio, a country band based in New York City, will hold a fund-raising performance "Trailer Radio Sings for Survival" on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at National Underground from 9:00-10:30 PM. The event is free to the public. All donations made during the performance will benefit Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Cycle for Survival, a team cycling event that raises money for research on rare cancers.

About Trailer Radio:
Trailer Radio is a 5-piece band led by West Virginia native Shannon Brown. The high-energy group performs an eclectic mix of original tunes and occasional covers in a roots and Americana vein. The band includes Joe Ongie (Aimee Mann, Minnie Driver) on bass, David Weiss (Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble, Carlos Guitarlos) on guitar, and Kenny Soule (Walter Trout, Popa Chubby) on drums.

About Cycle for Survival:
Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Cycle for Survival raises crucial funds for research on rare cancers. Founded in 2007 by Jennifer Goodman Linn and her husband, David, the event became an official Memorial Sloan-Kettering event in 2009 and has doubled in size and fundraising totals each successive year, making it one of the fastest growing fundraising events in the world. Now a national event, it has raised more than $4.5 million in less than four years.

Trailer Radio's lead singer, Shannon Brown, will also be participating in this year's Cycle for Survival.

"My best friend was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer and is undergoing treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering," said Shannon Brown. "He asked me to participate in Cycle for Survival in February. Since Trailer Radio had a performance coming up we decided to turn it into a fundraiser and hopefully raise even more money for cancer research. It's time we find a cure for cancer and every dollar counts. It's a cause that's extremely important to me."
