North Hollywood, CA (Top40 Charts/ Webster PR) - The Country Network (TCN), a country music video television network located on Music Row in Nashville, TN, has begun broadcasting in twelve additional markets. This release follows the prior announcement of the initiation of telecasts in the first ten markets. As were those stations, these are also all owned and/or operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. The twelve markets are: Market Asheville-Greenville Las Vegas Norfolk Oklahoma City Buffalo Mobile-Pensacola Charleston-Huntington Cape Girardeau Syracuse Madison Charleston Tallahassee | Call Letters WMYA KVCW WTVZ KOKH WUTV WFGX WVAH WDKA WSYT WMSN WMMP WTWC | Channel 40.3 33.3 33.3 25.2 29.2 35.3 11.2 49.3 68.2 47.3 36.3 40.3 | Pursuant to Sinclair Broadcast Group's retransmission agreements, TCN expects to have these channels carried by the majority of the cable systems in the respective DMAs within 90 days. Sinclair is one of the nation's largest broadcast groups, with 58 stations in 35 markets covering 22% of the U.S. television households. In August TCN and Sinclair announced the agreement that would place TCN in 28 Sinclair markets representing 17% of US television households this fall. TCN is now airing in 22 of these markets, and expects to begin broadcasting in the remaining 6 markets shortly. TCN is also in advanced negotiations with several other broadcast groups and expects to announce affiliations for additional markets shortly. Country music is America's most popular music genre. There are more than twice as many country music radio stations in the U.S. than any other music format. TCN fills a niche by bringing country music videos to free over-the-air television. TCN will be the only television network dedicated exclusively to airing country music videos. TCN will be "all Country Music, all the time." 'We are delighted to welcome these additional markets to the TCN fold,' said Warren Hansen, founder and CEO of TCN. 'It is gratifying to have been able to add stations as quickly as we have, and a great credit to the engineering teams at both TCN and Sinclair.' CobbCorp, Cobb, LeClair & Graves Partners (CLG), and Clocktower Partners are advising TCN.
