Idaho Falls, ID (Top40 Charts/ Eastern Idaho Jazz Society) - Seattle jazz trumpeter Chad McCullough will lead a modern musical quintet in Idaho Falls on November 18, 2010. The show is presented by the Eastern Idaho Jazz Society (EIJS). McCullough is a rising jazz performer, composer and instructor who has been an integral part of the Seattle music scene for over a decade. Called "one of Seattle's musical gems" by the website www.allaboutjazz.com, his Idaho Falls performance will include selections from his new CD, with Slovakian-pianist Michal Vanoucek, The Sky Cries. McCullough will be joined by Vanoucek on piano, top-call Northwest drummer Matt Jorgensen, Aaron Miller on bass and Brent Jensen on saxophone.

"We're delighted that Chad can join us in Idaho Falls in November," said EIJS President Kevin Young. "His music is a favorite of jazz lovers and critics alike. The entire quintet is packed with talent; it should be an exceptional night."

"I'm really looking forward to returning to Idaho, where I went to college, and bringing this music and the band there to play. I know I speak for all of us when I say we're thrilled for the support from the Eastern Idaho Jazz Society, and are grateful that we can help them bring live jazz into the community," McCullough stated. McCullough's new CD will be available internationally in October.

McCullough and his quintet will perform in the basement lounge at Vino Rosso in downtown Idaho Falls. The intimate venue seats about 80 people in an authentic jazz club setting.

EIJS is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that was formed in 2008 with a two-fold mission: to promote live jazz performances in Eastern Idaho and to encourage the next generation of jazz musicians in the area. Each spring and fall, EIJS hosts fundraising concerts featuring renowned jazz performers. EIJS also hosts an "open jam" session on the first Tuesday of every month, where local amateur and professional musicians collaborate and improvise. A free Jazz Festival is also being planned by the society; the event will take place next summer in Idaho Falls.
Tickets to the November event are available at the Colonial Theater Box Office in Idaho Falls, 208-522-0471. Tickets are $25 for EIJS members and $30 for non-members.
