New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - On 14-time GRAMMY-winner Ricky Skaggs' spiritual album 'Mosaic,' out now from Skaggs Family Records, Peter Frampton plays guitar on "My Cup Runneth Over," a moving statement of faith that, as Country Weekly said of the album 'blends musical integrity and uplifting, thoughtful lyrics with artful results.' The guitar Frampton plays on the track has musical integrity and history of its own; the cherry-red 1961 Gibson ES-335 was originally used by album co-producer Gordon Kennedy's father, famed Nashville session guitarist Jerry Kennedy on such classic recordings as Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman," Elvis Presley's "Good Luck Charm," Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man" and Bob Dylan's 'Blonde On Blonde' double LP. When Kennedy became a session player himself, the guitar was also played on albums by Jewel, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, and many others. The guitar also survived the May 2010 flooding of Nashville, as it almost ended up in storage at Soundcheck Nashville, but Kennedy retrieved it before the historic floods.
