New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Bethel Woods Center) - Ramblin' Jack Elliott is a true American original and 2010 Grammy Award winner for Best Traditional Blues Album. On Sunday, September 26th he will perform his legendary country/folk music for the Bethel Woods' audience in the intimate, indoor Event Gallery. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. performance. Tickets are $30.00 in advance and $35.00 day of show.

One of the great American musical treasures, Elliott has had a rich and storied life. As a budding musician, he developed his voice under the tutelage of Woody Guthrie, truck hitching across the country off and on for a couple of years together, carrying only 'razors and guitars.' Elliott was also a fixture in the Greenwich Village scene, and once spent 'three days and a lot of wine' listening to Jack Kerouac read On the Road. But it is his relationship with a young Bob Dylan that Elliott is perhaps most famous for, though back in the 1960s the up-and-coming Dylan was often mistakenly dubbed the 'son of Jack Elliott.' Today Elliott simply states 'Dylan learned from me the same way I learned from Woody.'

Revered for his interpretive take on traditional American music, Elliott also steps out of the country/folk arena that shaped his legend 50+ years in the making. On his most recent album, he examined a number of pre-WWII blues songs in a wholly unique way.

The Event Gallery at Bethel Woods is home to a diverse presentation of artists and musical genres fthis autumn. Additional upcoming performances include:

October 3 An Evening with Marc Cohn
October 9 Rhett Miller (of the Old '97s)
October 23 An Evening with Los Lonely Boys
November 12 Leon Redbone

Concert attendees can enjoy a Museum visit in addition to these performances. The Box Office will sell Museum tickets up to one hour prior to show time. The Museum closes 15 minutes before the concert begins. Please note, most guests prefer to spend approximately 90 minutes in the permanent exhibit plus additional time touring the Special Exhibit, Collecting Woodstock: Recent Museum Acquisitions on the lower level. Please plan accordingly to enjoy the full Museum experience.
