Irvine, CA (TOP40 Charts/ Orange County Great Park) -- This weekend, the Orange County Great Park brings to the stage the flavor of the past with the intensity of the present when the Orange County Great Park's Flights & Sounds Summer Festival heats up with Lucky 7 Mambo and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Come dance to the rhythm of Lucky 7 Mambo this Friday, August 13th at 8:00 p.m. Inspired by the multi-ethnic music-fusion of the 1950's and 60's Spanish Harlem, Lucky 7 Mambo's uniquely American-made style draws the best of Cuban song, African-American jazz, and Puerto Rican soul. At 7:30 p.m., dance instructors will get everyone on their feet to prepare to Mambo to one of the hottest acts in Los Angeles' burgeoning Latin music scene.

Come back to the Great Park on Saturday, August 14th at 8:00 p.m., to groove to the high-energy, horn-driven music of "America's Favorite Little Big Band" --- Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The band, who has performed at Super Bowl halftime, in the movie "Swingers," and for three different U.S. presidents, delivered the most well-attended and rapturously received show of last summer's Great Park summer concert series.

"The Great Park summer concert series offers a wide variety of entertainment," said Larry Agran, Chair of the Orange County Great Park Corporation. "Come out and enjoy two nights of exciting dance music at the Great Park -- and if you get there a little early on Saturday, you will be able to also enjoy the 'Great Park Comedy Corner' at 7:00 p.m."

Before each performance, historic Hangar 244 is transformed into the "Hangar Cafe," a lounge-like dining area serving up everything from snacks to full dinners, along with a variety of refreshments. The menu features a themed selection inspired by the global mix of musicians, and visitors can preview the menu by visiting www.ocgp.org.

Flights & Sounds Summer Festival is presented by the Orange County Great Park Corporation in partnership with Irvine Barclay Theatre. Concertgoers can watch the show from chairs provided in a temporary concert pavilion or bring their own chairs to listen to the music from the Great Park Lawn. Admission to Flights & Sounds Summer Festival dance and concert series is free, and parking is just $10. The Orange County Great Park is located at Sand Canyon and Marine Way in Irvine, just off of both the 405 and 5 Freeways.

Upcoming 2010 Great Park summer performers include a wide variety of first-rate artists, including five-time Grammy Award-winning Blind Boys of Alabama, local surfing champion and artist Donavon Frankenreiter, ScrapArtsMusic, Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys, and BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and the Mardi Gras Indians.

The Orange County Great Park and its 1,347-acre master plan is the focal point of the redevelopment of the 4,700-acre former Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro. The Great Park is currently built out to 27.5 acres and includes an iconic tethered helium balloon that rises 400 feet in the air, providing an aerial view of Park development. A $65.5 million development plan to expand the Park to 200 acres is currently underway. The plan will build out a core section of the Park for the most immediate and wide-ranging public benefit, including a sports park, agricultural area, and an art and culture exhibition space.
