Eden Brent, 'Sultry' (WSJ) Blues Pianist Of The Year, Plays NYC 8/19

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Eden Brent, winner of the 2010 Blues Music Award as Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year, will bring the whiskey-smoke voice and piano chops heard on her eclectic upcoming album 'Ain't Got No Troubles' (out September 7 from Yellow Dog Records) to New York's Rockwood Music Hall August 19th.

Brent, a native of Greenville, Mississippi, was a longtime protege'e of blues pioneer Abie "Boogaloo" Ames. On 'Ain't Got No Troubles,' she plays and sings an earthy meld of blues, pop, soul and jazz in a range from a melancholic whisper to a full-blown juke joint holler. The Wall Street Journal has called Brent, who also won "Acoustic Album of the Year" and "Acoustic Artist of the Year" honors at 2009's Blues Music Awards, "a force to reckon with...aggressive, sultry, hot and cool." She'll demonstrate why on August 19th.
