New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - The National have just confirmed a block of additional U.S. tour dates in September and October. Following the release of their new album 'High Violet' - which debuted at No 3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart - the band kicked off their U.S. tour with two shows in Los Angeles last month. Reviewing the first show, The Los Angeles Times wrote "there's high drama in the music of the National," adding that they "eased grace and beauty." 'High Violet' is earning The National rave reviews with Newsweek calling the album "the band's best so far" and the New York Times Magazine proclaiming, "the National is in a league of its own."

This weekend, the band played the first of a series of festival shows at Sasquatch. The Seattle Weekly described the bands performance as "the evening's most exhilarating set." The band will make stops at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza this summer and Portland's Musicfest NW and Austin City Limits this fall.

Last month, The National performed a special benefit show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music for the Red Hot Organization. The performance was directed by legendary filmmaker DA Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus for a live webcast on Vevo and YouTube. See the link below to watch some clips from the show.
