Joel never knew how much he would relate to the lyrics in his debut until after he recorded the track. 'I never thought I would be living the lyrics of my first single Leavin' Lubbock,' says Joel. 'But I am living proof that you can never say country music isn't about real life stories.' Like the character in his song, Joel experienced the end of his marriage and now pushes forward with his debut album.
