New York, NY (TOP40 Charts/ Andy Hill & Renee Safier official website) -- Folk/rock duo Andy Hill and Renee Safier with their band Hard Rain present the 20th Annual Bob Dylan Fest at St. Anthony School in El Segundo (So. California), on Saturday, May 8th, 12:30 8:30 p.m. The fest will be held outside adjacent to the gym, rain or shine and a portion of the proceeds will benefit St. Anthony Elementary School. Marty Rifkin, who has toured and recorded with Bruce Springsteen, among others, will accompany Hard Rain on pedal steel. Over 60 musicians will perform over 60 songs from Dylans vast catalogue, with no repeat numbers. Musicians and bands are selected before the event, several returning each year.

Performers also include: Bob Malone, Karen Nash, Pillow of Wrongness, Dry September, Jay Constable & Nate LaPointe, Kyle Hurley, Tom Hicks, Jack McGee, John Hoke, Fuzzy Thurston, Daniel Leanse, Patti Orbeck, Arlen Rimmer, James Lee Stanley, Bellylove, Terry Buck, Caroline Vreeland, The 8-Tracks, Clementines Jannel and Elijah Rap, Sassy Minxx Dancers Trish Gomez and Jodie Mendoza (more TBA).

The audience is encouraged to dress up in costumes as characters, things, interpretations and misinterpretations of Dylans song titles or lyrics, states Andy. Some of the costumes over the years have included various versions of Tangled Up In Blue, Highway 61, farmers daughter, Isis and baby blue, among others.

St. Anthony School is located at 233 Lomita Street in El Segundo. Admission is $20 in advance, $25 at the gate, children 12 and under are $10. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. For seating bring a beach chair. Advance tickets for $20 can also be purchased through andyandrenee.com or by contacting Andy at (310) 324-3663 or [email protected].

Andy Hill started the event in 1991 in celebration of Dylans 50th birthday (May 24). He had read in the liner notes of Dylans Biograph retrospective set of a party in New York where guests were invited to dress up as characters from Dylans songs. Since the fests inception it has been held at various venues in the South Bay, including Andys backyard.

Andy and Renee have recorded nine independent CDs, several produced by Marty Rifkin, including It Takes A Lot To Laugh CD that featured all Dylan songs that led to a performance at the Dylan Fest in Italy. With the help of their band Hard Rain and several friends, Andy and Renee also recreated a live performance of The Bands legendary Last Waltz concert. The duo have also won numerous songwriting and performance awards. They are currently working on their tenth CD and a DVD of past Dylan Fest performances.

Andy and Renee play over 200 dates a year as a duo or with their band throughout Southern California as well as Arizona, Colorado, and various folk festivals around the country.
