New York (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) - Midlake, the indie band from Denton, TX, whose new album 'The Courage of Others' (Bella Union) has earned raves on both sides of the Atlantic, has announced additional dates for its first North American tour since 2007. Among the highlights, the band will perform at South by Southwest (at Buffalo Billiards, Thursday, March 18), and at Washington State's Sasquatch
Music Festival on Memorial Day Weekend (Sunday, May 30th).
The New York Times called 'The Courage of Others' "solemn" and "gorgeous;" NPR described it as "one deep, dark, beautiful record - a gentle masterwork;" and USA Today, calling it "beautiful," awarded it 3.5 out of 4 stars. Similar raves came from British music mags including four-star lead reviews in Mojo and Q.
Supporting Midlake on all dates will be fellow Bella Union artist and former leader of The Czars, John Grant. The tour is the latest in a burgeoning creative partnership between Grant and Midlake. They back him on his debut solo album 'Queen of Denmark' coming out April 6.
