Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ So Much Moore Media) - Singer/songwriter Becky Schlegel has penned "Joseph and Mary" (a new insight into the story of Christ's birth) as a musical gift to her fans. The free download of this original song is available only at www.beckyschlegel.com now through Christmas Eve. In addition to Becky's moving vocal, the track features musicians Missy Raines on bass, Michael Witcher on dobro and Brian Fesler on guitar.

"It's written from a different perspective than most Christmas songs," Schlegel says of "Joseph and Mary." Becky wrote the song after hearing a particularly moving - and unusual sermon. 'The message was simple," she explains. ''Who among us today would be as trusting as Joseph? Wouldn't it have been hard for him to accept Mary's story?''

LYRICS:
I am just a carpenter in love with who I see
Trying hard to understand and wanting to believe
That truth is what you're giving me, a story that you know
Is something of a mystery and I may never know

But the truth is in your eyes
You never asked questions such as I

CHORUS
You never asked why,
You never asked who,
You never asked how, am I going to take care of you
You're holding on tight, and you're holding on strong...
You never showed anything but love...

I could choose to walk away, yes I could choose to run
But I am needed here and now to finish what's begun
And though my friends are telling me that pure your soul is not
Love is what you need from me, and not a doubting heart...

Then I look, into your eyes
You never had doubts, such as I
