V V BROWN has planned her first U.S. live appearances for late October

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Capitol Records) - Drawing extravagant praise as one of the year's key musical discoveries from all over the U.K. media, and the European festival circuit, Capitol Records singer-songwriter V V BROWN has planned her first U.S. live appearances for late October. Her debut album, TRAVELLING LIKE THE LIGHT, is scheduled for North American release early in 2010, with an introductory EP planned in November 2009.

After a press day in New York, V V and her band will join a gala live showcase co-sponsored by Windish Agency and CMJ as part of 2009's annual CMJ Music Marathon, at downtown Manhattan's Santos Party House, on October 24th. She will play the legendary Los Angeles nightspot The Roxy on October 26th, opening for Midnight Juggernauts, and the following night, at Club Spaceland, opening for First Aid Kit. On October 29th, V V plays in San Francisco, at Poleng Lounge.

Since the European release of her self-written and co-produced album this year, 25-year old V V has made dozens of impressive appearances on television, in online posts, and on the live festival stage, performing rhythmic and unforgettable original album tracks including 'Shark in the Water,' 'Crying Blood' and 'LEAVE!' V V Brown's music has been described as "a perfect pop cocktail" (The Sun) and "Spector-ish pop as slick as her black pompadour�her vocal shines through every track" (Elle). In the U.K. and Europe, V V has performed with The Ting Tings, Ladyhawke and Antony & the Johnsons, among others. She also has a website devoted to retro fashion in a modern context, and has made runway appearances at supermodel Naomi Campbell's charity event, and at London Fashion Week.
