NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - 14-time Grammy winner Ricky Skaggs has earned his fifth consecutive No 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass albums chart with 'Ricky Skaggs Solo (Songs My Dad Loved),' out now on Skaggs Family Records. The release of 'Songs My Dad Loved' has been met with a wave of critical acclaim. In their 4 1/2-star review, Country Weekly says 'Solo' is a singular pleasure,' while Billboard says the album 'truly feels like an intimate fly-on-the wall field recording.' Skaggs spoke to NPR 'All Things Considered' host Melissa Block about the album, listen to the interview here: https://bit.ly/RickySkaggs_AllThingsConsidered On the album, Skaggs pays tribute to his father Hobert Skaggs, who began teaching a 3-year-old Ricky to play the deep mountain music featured on the album. It's a solo record in the truest sense, with Skaggs playing every instrument and singing every note. Next up for Ricky is the CMA awards on November 11, where he's a nominee in the "Musical Event of the Year" category for his collaboration with Jack White and the Raconteurs on a bluegrass-inspired version of "Old Enough."
