New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - Boise, Idaho's Built to Spill, one of modern rock's most endearing and enduring iconic rock mainstays, will hit the road for an extensive U.S. headlining tour beginning in August. The tour - which kicks off on August 20th with a show in Oregon with Warner Bros. Records label-mates The
Flaming Lips - criss-crosses the country through the fall before concluding November 20th in Seattle.
Built to Spill will be previewing tracks from their upcoming studio album There Is No Enemy, their seventh, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on October 6th, 2009. Vocalist/guitarist Doug Martsch spent three and a half years writing the songs, which he recorded with drummer Scott Plouf, guitarist Jim Roth, and bassist/guitarist Brett Nelson. There Is No Enemy is the band's first album since 2006's You In Reverse. Previous studio albums include 2001's Ancient Melodies of the Future, 1999's Keep It Like A Secret, and their major-label debut, 1997's Perfect From Now On.
