New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Whether performing with The Sugarcanes or The Imposters; solo at an NYC bar, in front of thousands at Bonnaroo or even with Sheryl Crow at the MLB All-Star concert, Elvis Costello is performing at his peak this summer.

Most of Costello's recent shows have been with his all-star cast of Nashville session players, The Sugarcanes, who also comprise his band on 'Secret, Profane, & Sugarcane,' released June 2nd by Hear Music. The San Francisco Chronicle called the T Bone Burnett-produced disc of Southern-inflected acoustic music an "instant classic." It earned Costello his highest chart debut in 30 years with a No 13 bow on the Billboard 200. "The songs," say Ann Powers of the LA Times, "speak of other locales and eras, from the antebellum Deep South to P.T. Barnum's Eastern Seaboard and beyond."

The Sugarcanes are Jerry Douglas (dobro), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Dennis Crouch (upright bass), Mike Compton (mandolin), Jeff Taylor (accordion) and Jim Lauderdale (acoustic guitar).

Recent raves for Elvis Costello live:
"Elvis Costello was nothing short of spectacular. Costello's emotive, storytelling vocals meshed beautifully with the band's old-fashioned country." - Dan Aquilante, NY Post

"Elvis and this top-notch group wowed the sold-out audience at the Beacon with a largely acoustic, two-hour-plus set." - Ron Hart, Billboard

"The 30-song show was a wonder of multi-genre crossbreeding, in which Costello rendered a half-century of popular music as a seamless whole." - Dave Menconi, Raleigh News & Observer (NC)

"Brisk, energetic... an exhilarating show that grew increasingly tight as the sun set over the Mississippi." - Rob Hubbard, St. Paul Pioneer Press (MN)

"Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Costello's set--aside from how fiercely and consistently it rocked and how aggressive a guitarist Costello has become--is how even at two hours it barely scratched the surface of Costello's songbook." -Evan Rytlewski, Shepherd Express (WI)
